Exercise is not only a way to look good or have physical results, it is also necessary to maintain our mental health and feel as good on the outside as we do on the inside.
Therefore, it is essential that within the routine we include some exercise time a day to help us drain the emotions we are feeling, as well as keep us active and not sedentary.
Why is exercise important?
There are different factors why exercise is VERY important, and we don’t want you to always relate it to something physical, because it can also be a good way to deal with some emotions and allow us to drain what we are feeling.
Let’s take a look at why these physical activities are so important:
#1. Control our weight. Surely you’ve heard it or have exercised for that reason, but the truth is that many health specialists recommend exercising to maintain a healthy weight and feel good physically.
#2. It gives you energy. Instead of drinking a cup of coffee, you could exercise and give yourself a good energy boost for your day. Exercise helps us to get oxygen flowing through our body and end up giving us lots of energy.
#3. It helps your mental health. It has been scientifically proven that exercise releases chemicals in our brain that increase the feeling of happiness and decrease the effects of depression.
How do I start exercising?
This step is not always easy, and many times we make excuses for not exercising, either because we are tired, because we don’t have time or because there are other things to do.
Today we want to remind you that the important things goes beyond excuses, so the first recommendation to start is that: start! Other recommendations we give you…
Not everything is black and white, it can also be gray. Sometimes we think it’s all or nothing, but if we dedicate some time to exercise, it is an effort to be applauded. Don’t think you have to spend five hours exercising, rather be excited about the time you’ve managed to invest.
Be kind to yourself. We can become very hard on ourselves and punish ourselves when things don’t go as expected. How about starting to be kinder and more appreciative of our efforts?
Have realistic expectations. Always think about your possibilities and capabilities, and based on that set goals and meet expectations that are realistic. This is not a competition, so go at your own pace and to the best of your ability.
We hope these tips will help you start exercising and begin to understand the importance of these activities for our bodies, beyond how we may look.
Remember that dedicating time and giving yourself the best you can is also an act of self-love, so start loving yourself today!
Love,
Maka.
