Sometimes we stare at our hair and see that some ends look a little bit weird, has it ever happened to you? That’s what they are called: split ends! And they are the result of the breakage of our hair fiber.

What are split ends?

As we told you before, these split ends that we sometimes see, happen because our hair fiber has broken or frayed as a result of a frayed cuticle.

Although we don’t always notice a split end, as they become more and more, we start to see them because they become more visible when we comb our hair or simply look at it, and it’s all the result of wear and tear that we didn’t pay attention to in the first place.

Why do I have split ends?

The ends of our hair split for different reasons, but some of the most common can be:

Extreme weather conditions. Extreme cold or heat can end up drying and breaking our hair from root to tip.

Heat exposure. Whether it’s a blow dryer, flat or curling iron, if we don’t protect our hair properly, it will end up drying out and our ends will break.

Chemicals. Read the ingredients of the products you use! Chemicals can end up splitting our ends and damaging our hair in general.

How to deal with split ends?

Split ends have a solution. Don’t think it’s impossible to say goodbye to them.

One of the quickest and most direct alternatives can be to cut your ends regularly so you can eliminate what is no longer healthy in your hair. So if you find you have split ends and want a change, here’s your chance!

You can also try a hair mask to hydrate your hair but be warned that the best solution is to cut the ends to eliminate the problem completely.

What to do to avoid split ends?

We’re going to be honest with you: it’s hard to avoid them! At some point in our lives, we’ve all had them. What we can do is reduce the number of split ends and the frequency with which they appear.

Here are some tips to reduce them (remember: they’re normal and they happen!):

Remember: split ends are not something strange or something that only happens to some people… It happens to all of us at some point! That’s why the best thing we can do is to take care of our hair using friendly products and avoid the use of heat as much as possible.

If you’re going through a time of too many split ends, then take the plunge and cut them a little to refresh and start from scratch. We assure you that you will feel great and your hair will thank you for it.

Love,

Maka.
