Are hair and diet related? Of course, they are!
The cells of our hair are the ones that grow faster after the intestinal cells, and as if that were not enough, we have about 120,000 hairs that need good nutrition to grow. Hair loss or growth is often a sign of nutritional imbalance.
In some cases, iron deficiency can translate into hair loss, and the same happens when we have too much vitamin A. As you can see, each overload or deficiency will be evident in our hair … Pay attention!
What should I include in my diet for healthy hair?
We already explained to you how food plays a quite important role in our hair care, but now you are surely wondering what you should do to keep it healthy and avoid hair loss.
In general, a good diet requires certain things such as including vitamins, vegetables, avoiding flours, adding good proteins, and even a careful amount of carbohydrates. What we need is nothing out of the ordinary, so if you already follow a good diet, surely your hair has reflected it.
If you want to have healthy hair, here we leave you what should not be missing in your diet:
How does diet influence my hair?
You can use the best treatments and take care of your hair with incredible products, but if you do not combine that with a good diet, you will probably find that you are not achieving the results you want in the long term.
As we already told you, diet plays an important role in hair health, and hair loss or dryness may be signs that you are eating poorly or not hydrating enough. Isn’t it incredible that everything in our body connects? We do!
Therefore, we share with you five tips that can help you in the process of taking better care of your hair:
#1. Don’t forget breakfast
Have you ever heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? It is totally real! And that’s because breakfast will give you the energy you need for your day. So eating a nutritious breakfast is amazing for healthy hair.
#2. Hydrate yourself!
You have to drink a lot of water, not just for your hair, but for your entire system. It is advisable to ingest 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily (it depends on your lifestyle). When you hydrate, your hair appreciates it and grows much better.
#3. Consume iron
Iron is VERY important for your hair to grow. Therefore, and if it is possible for you, try to eat meat at least twice a week (especially if you are menstruating). If you don’t eat meat, you can opt for a nutritional supplement that will work just as well.
#4. Be careful with dairy!
Although they are an incredible source of calcium, they can also be a source of dandruff, eczema, or psoriasis. So if you have any of these conditions, be sure to avoid dairy whenever possible.
#5. Your mental health is important too
Remember to accompany your good diet with good mental health, because when we feel stress, anxiety, or bad thoughts, our hair reflects it.
We hope that all these tips are useful for your hair care and that you understand the great relationship that exists between what we eat and how we look outside.
You don’t need to make drastic changes, but you do need to take into account small details that will make a big difference.
