We know that many (including us) love the sun, beach, or pool days, especially on these dates that we plan some getaways or trips to the beach.
Nothing like swimming for a while and enjoying the contact of our feet with the sand. And if we live in the Caribbean, no way! We go much more often to take advantage of these beach days.
That’s why it’s VERY important to know how to take care of your hair to avoid damaging it and just focus on enjoying yourself.
How do the sun, sand, and sea affect my hair?
Although many of us love them, the reality is that their effect on our hair is not the best, that’s why it’s important to prepare ourselves.
On the one hand, the mixture of salt water, sun, and wind, although they give our hair a beautiful beach wave effect that makes us feel like we’re in a movie, can dry it out and cause breakage.
So it’s very important that you try to moisturize your hair before you go to the beach and after you’ve been exposed to all the sun, breeze, and heat.
Although we know that being at the beach we don’t want to worry about anything and we don’t have the habit of doing it either, that’s why we are going to tell you…
How to take care of your hair after a day at the beach
Ok, so you’ve been to the beach, enjoyed yourself, and soaked up a lot of sun, what happens to our hair now and how can we repair the damage?
#1. Start by moisturizing. When you get in the shower after your day at the beach, the first thing you should do is moisturize your hair with some mask or oil. Remember that it’s dry. The idea is to prevent breakage.
#2. Use a natural shampoo. The ideal is to avoid any that contain salt, sulfates, parabens or silicon and go for natural options that contribute to our hair because those chemical compounds can only dry it more than it could already be.
#3. Apply a leave-in. As you can see, it’s VERY important to focus on moisturizing. So after you’ve washed your hair, we recommend applying our salt, sulfate, paraben, and silicone-free leave-in.
#4. Take a moment before styling. First, make sure you’ve moisturized your hair so that the comb or brush you use goes through your hair smoothly and there’s no breakage.
Now you’re ready to go and enjoy the beach!
Always remember to take care of your hair as much as possible so it doesn’t get damaged in the process. Don’t forget that self-love also starts with taking care of your hair.
Love,
Maka.
