Most of us at some point have wanted to have long and beautiful hair, but we feel that it takes too long to grow and that makes us a little desperate, right?
If that has happened to you, then we want to share with you tips on how to make your hair grow faster and look just like you dreamed it would. And if you have short hair, you can still save this article in case you want to change it later.
Remember that the most important thing is not how long or short your hair is, but that it feels and looks healthy. The rest is a bonus.
How does our hair grow?
The process of our hair growth is AMAZING, and maybe you didn’t know it, but we are born with all the hair follicles we will ever have, which is about five million. WHAT? Yes! Fun fact: according to the American Academy of Dermatology, it is normal for us to lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day.
Our hair grows underneath one of those follicles. When blood from the hair reaches that follicle, nutrients from the root help it grow. We’re not lying when we say it’s a whole process.
Why doesn’t my hair grow?
There is no single reason, so our hair can stop growing due to factors such as age, genetics, hormones, stress, among many others.
Nowadays there are many options to make your hair grow (vitamins, dietary adjustments, procedures, among others), but we recommend you always consult with a specialist who knows what you need.
What to do to make hair grow?
We already understood how hair grows, why it doesn’t grow and we want to finish by telling you some ways to help it grow (reminder: every hair is different!).
#1. Avoid restrictive diets
Specialists say it’s not possible to control all the factors that make our hair grow, but there are things we CAN do to stop the process from slowing down.
Therefore, one recommendation is to avoid restrictive diets, as they can diminish the resources and nutrients for hair growth.
#2. Use products that accelerate hair growth
You may not know it (or you may know it), but there are different products that contain natural ingredients that help accelerate the growth of our hair. So if you combine that with good nutrition and care, you will see changes in the length of your hair.
#3. Control the heat
Using a flat iron, curling iron or blow dryer can cause your hair to break and not grow. So if you use these tools we recommend always using a heat protectant to keep your hair as protected as possible.
Remember that it doesn’t matter if you have long or short hair, the most important thing is that it feels and looks great. You can do that by taking care of it and giving it tons of love.
Love, Maka.
