The earth is our home and it’s no secret that in recent years we have become more aware of how our actions (small or not) can have a major impact on it… For better or worse!

One thing is certain: every day we can make important decisions that are a great act of love for the environment and everything around us. It’s all about making responsible decisions that, although they often seem small, will make a huge change in the long run.

In the end, taking care of our home is everyone’s job and each person can do their bit in the process. As it is always a good time to learn and nurture ourselves, today we share with you some tips to take care of the environment:

#1. Recycle!

There are different ways to do it, and one way to start is with the containers we use every day. At Maka we make sure to do it, that’s why we encourage you to return your containers and get a 10% discount when you buy the same product you recycle. You can drop them off at our offices at Calle Miguel Angel Garrido No. 12, Edif DIX BUSINESS CENTER 1, Level 1, Los Prados, Santo Domingo, DN.

#2. Reuse as much as you can

Sometimes, we use more than we should and this applies to paper, plastic and even clothes. So how about starting to reuse as much paper as you can, buying second-hand clothes, looking for more plastic-friendly alternatives? All of these seemingly small changes have a big impact in the long run.

#3. Take care of the water you use

Water is a finite resource, so we must take care of it and not overuse it to minimize the effect of drought. And how can we do that? Bathing in less time, not leaving the water running, not wasting water when washing dishes… We can pay attention to these small details that end up being huge.

#4. Dust off your bike

If you don’t already, consider going for a bike ride when you have the chance. Replacing car trips is a great way to cut down on fuel use. Plus, it’s a great way to get some exercise and distraction along the way.

#5. Plant a tree

Trees are our greatest source of oxygen. Therefore, we should embrace them every time we see them, because they are giving us a very important resource. Besides that, they eliminate carbon dioxide and give us fresh, clean air.

As you can see, taking care of the environment does not have to be a difficult task, it is actually a way of life in which we choose to make small daily decisions that will help us to give love to this, our home.

We hope these tips can help you spread love to the earth.

Love,

Maka.
