Among the most complicated things in life, getting started can be one. And when it comes to routines, starting to make them part of our daily lives can be a challenge, but it’s not impossible.
When thinking about exercise, one of the most complicated moments can be the start. Why? Because we must make the decision to do it and have the willpower to continue. Not only thinking about how good we are going to look but how much our health (physical and mental) will thank us for it.
If it has happened to you that you have postponed many times the start of exercising or you are thinking, finally, to start doing it, today we want to give you encouragement and some tips that will help you. We don’t want you to feel pressure, but we want you to get a good dose of motivation to start when you decide to.
Why should I start exercising?
Surely you’ve seen thousands of times influencers sharing their exercise routines, their meal plans, or everything they do during the day to stay active, but beyond that, why exercise?
The answer will depend on each person because if something is for sure, is that we all have different motivations. There will be someone who does it because they need to lose weight for their health, others may have set themselves a personal challenge and some people find it works to forget about stress. Any option is okay!
So, the most important thing is that you find your own reason for doing it: to disconnect, to feel better, to move or a little bit of everything? In the end, exercise is a way to help ourselves feel good (and also look good, but that’s an add-on).
You should exercise to take care of yourself and give yourself self-love.
How do I get started with an exercise routine?
Now that you’ve made the decision to start exercising, you’re probably wondering how to get started. And there isn’t just one way; in fact, quite the contrary: there are many!
Our exercise routine should respond to our tastes and to those activities we enjoy, because only then can it become a long-term activity. Anyway, we share with you some tips:
#1. Review your routine. We want the exercise to be part of what you do during the day. Therefore, it is very important that you make sure you make realistic time slots to include it. You can start by setting short time frames and then make them longer.
#2. Watch what you eat. A good exercise routine must be accompanied by good nutrition. Your body is going to need you to show it as much love as possible, and you’re going to do that by eating balanced meals and keeping yourself moving. Important: this doesn’t mean you should go to extremes.
#3. Listen to your body. If you don’t usually exercise, set realistic goals. You have to be aware of your limits and don’t overtax your body, because that could keep you away from physical activity. Little by little you can increase and advance, everything in its own time!
We hope these tips help you and motivate you to start. Remember to do it in your own time and remember what YOU like.
With love,
Maka.
